Yes, yes , YES.

I finally watched Frozen !

The best princess-based Disney movie to date ! It even won an Oscar for Best Animation Film ! And its song, Let It Go, won the Best Original Song !

Great storyline, very unique and original. Beautiful music and songs. Top-notch graphics. Awesome characters. Whats more to ask for ?

Why do we feel the need to 'like' and 'comment' on posts on Facebook ?

Why do we feel the need to take 'selfies' ?

Why do we feel the need to 'retweet' and 'favourite' on Twitter ?

Why do we feel the need to take every pictures of the things we do and eat at the time and post them everywhere ?

WHY ?

No logical or reasonable reason whatsoever.

It's like we, human beings, have turned ourselves into willing servants of the social networking sites, gadgets, technologies and the internet.

Maybe you could argue that taking pictures and capturing moments is for memory and posting up on sites so that the memory will not fade and share them with people so that everyone you know could share your joy and happiness.

Yes. that will be the only acceptable reason, although people overdo it and it becomes a craze and show-off medium and that does not explain the need to gain as many 'likes' as possible.

The thing is, moderation is the key.

Everything has limits.

Stay within the line and everything will turn out well and beautiful and meaningful.

But right now, I don't think there will be a turning-back.

We have gone too far.

What a pity .

Insight: Choosing a Degree Course

Firstly, I love the Mass Comm degree and I found out the reasons why I can't pursue this degree.

And then, I love the Law degree and I found out how I won't be able to make it till the end.

And then, i found something closer to my heart and picked English-related degrees , English Literature/ TESOL Education degree and stay with it because that is all I love all my life.

The message here is : YOU GOT TO FIND SOMETHING THAT YOU WANT TO DO DEEP DOWN IN YOUR HEART.

Because that will ALWAYS lead you to the right place. 

Sometimes, it will be overwhelming that you know you have so many choices out there and you have a lot of interests and you feel like you can try out everything. 

But then again, when you sit down and think about it more, you will start eliminating choices because you found the reasons why the choices couldn't exactly work out for you in the end. 

A person could have many interests and many sides. But a person also has a main core purpose that he or she wants to do the rest of their lives. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what your degree got to be about. 

A study in degree is a time period in life which is important. You need to have fun while studying it , gain experiences, get to know the world and yourself better and path a future for yourself. 

Although it is perfectly fine that you end up doing something that has nothing related to your degree course when you start working, it will be so much nicer and better that you do end up doing something you studied for, that's the first best thing in options.

Be yourself and think for yourself. Don't let other people tell you who you are and what you need to do with your life. Study what you want and love. Chase dreams, fulfill goals.

Insight: Choosing an University

So, what really went through my mind during the process of university-picking ?

Here we are.

It's said that it's good to dream BIG and put your vision as HIGH UP as possible. Therefore, I have been eyeing the UK universities for the longest time.

And since I have been thinking about flying over to the UK to study for so long, it's only right and reasonable for me to apply for the universities there through ucas.com

So I did. I applied for 5 universities.

Thankfully, I GOT THEM ALL.

Now, as any determined, headstrong and logical dream-chaser would GRAB those opportunities to fly over to the UK to study, I DID NOT.

I have my very own reasons, ie: the unsuitability of the actual degree courses, the lack of scholarships, the challenges of living abroad and so on.

But the sheer satisfaction of getting offers from universities that I applied for is enough for me. It proves to me that I CAN DO IT.

So then what did I do?

I went back to my first love, my dream university for years, an university close to home but has the legacy from the UK. For me, it is the perfect combination, just simply perfect and I know in my heart no matter what choices that come my way, I'll still pick it and that's WHAT MAKES IT THE RIGHT ONE.

Why do I choose to work ?

Starting 17th Feb, I'll start my job at YuanYuan Boutique at Tesco in addition to my teaching job in the weekends.

But why would I want to do that ?

1. I don't fancy sitting around the house doing nothing worthwhile and I hate myself for it.

2. I need to socialise more, meet people and open up a bit.

3. I want to observe myself on whether I can take the pain and suffer of working from 9.30 am to 10.30 pm. It will be a challenge I want to prove to myself.

4. Gain working experiences.

5. Avoid nagging by parents about being in front of the laptop all the time. Now that I start working, I don't even get enough time to sleep and eat.

6. See the world, the society, the people and observe and obtain how good or bad things are.

7. To earn some pocket money, first pile of paper money at age 20.


This is gonna be one bittersweet experience, that's for sure.

All I hope is that it is going to be alright and that I am still alive at the end of this and be prepared for university in september.

What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20

I finished reading this book and now my mum is reading it as well !

I found it very informative, real and helpful so I thought I would share with you the tips and lessons inside it, so that everyone of you will not miss out on the golden knowledge !

1. everything has value. You have to find ways to improve the values of things to discover opportunities behind them . ( vision of entrepreneurship)

2. every mistake has its solutions. Its solutions could be turn into opportunities for success . We just have to look around hard enough to notice the things need solving and changing. ( vision of entrepreneurship )

3. Do not let people tell you what you should do in your life. Do not let the society's stereotype vision and status quo to frame you into a typical thinking box about how you should do and act.

4. Luck comes with hard work. So put yourself in that position to attract luck.

5. Dont give up. Keep trying. But remember failure is good as it makes the road to success. Learn when to let go and accept defeat. Know that giving up is not a bad thing and keep holding on is not a good thing either.

6. Remember it is a very small world. Your life will often consist of the same people over a period of time. Treat people well. Care for your reputation. It will give you opportunities and give you an easier time in life.

7. Combine your skill, your interest and whether there is a market for it ,  u will have the perfect job and u wont have to work in your life. And if there is no market for your passion and talent, create it.

What I wish to accomplish in 2014

Here are what I want to do and accomplish this year :

1. finish reading all the books I bought

2. Finish my novel

3. Learn about make up

4. Get used to contact lenses

5. shop for dresses

6. learn more about university life and life aboard

7. Get more working experience

8. Send an article to The Star

9. Get to that essay competition prize giving ceremony

10. get good result for the A2-level exam

11. apply for scholarships

12. get scholarships

13. lose some weight and get my body in shape and be healthy

14. figure out more about beauty and fashion

15. be sociable and  go to events and places with people

16. learn some new skills , cooking ? baking ? dancing ? photography ? video editting ?

17. drive more !

18. earn the first amount of salary in the age of 20 !

19. treat the family and myself with that first salary

20. get into a nice university in a nice place and continue with my degree !
